OK, first of all, I'd like to point out to all of you who think that 2012 being the end of the world will either be where everybody dies at once, or you people who thinks its all bullshit, is not my point of view nor is it a realistic point of view. First of all, i will say i believe something will happen within the next 5-28 years, i am not entirely sure that 2012 is an accurate estimation to the date. There are several large events that could possibly happen anytime from 1 minute from now, to 2036, or 1000 years from now.
The first thing that id like to point out, is that through out Earths history, the magnetic poles mapped on the surface of the Earth have shifted to several different locations across the surface over the course of its history. Geometric north is what we call the top of the world, or the north pole, but magnetic north is the point where the magnetosphere originates on each side of the Earth. This shift is believed to have happened do to a large amount of gravitational energy focused on our Solar System. Our Solar system lies on the Orion's arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. Each arm of a Galaxy is nothing but a wave pulsing out from the center of the galaxy, where we believe what is known as a Super Massive Black Hole, which is what spins the galaxy, and it is this gravity that gives the galaxy its flat shape(like clay on a spinning table, the clay spins out do to the rotation and flattens in the process). The point which this gravity is concentrated is called the Galactic Plane. Now as mentioned earlier we are on Orion's arm, an arm being a wave, and a wave (Electromagnetic Waves), if you've ever seen an illustration, is like an undulating line. The amplitude peaks to the Crest of the arm, to the Trouph of the arm, and every time we pass through the Galactic Plane, all of the energy from the Super Massive Black Hole affects our Magnetosphere dramatically. Scientists believe that when we pass through it again, the magnetic poles will inverse, the south magnetic pole will become north and north will become south. During the transition, the magnetosphere will dissipate, and we will be completely defenseless from solar flares and solar winds. Our Ozone will also disappear. We are already over due for this reversal.
Not only will this leave us openly exposed to Stellar Dangers, the effect of the reversal of the magnetic poles could trigger a Mega Volcano to erupt. This Mega Volcano is also known as, Yellow Stone. Yellow Stone is the site of a geyser with sits directly above caverns of magma, which heat the water and cause the geyser to erupt in steam. It has already been shown the the land of Yellow Stone has risen several yards above sea level, this is believe to be due to the expansion of the caverns filling up with magma, Yellow Stone has erupted 5-8 times in the past of Earth's history, and it is over due to erupt again. If it erupts not only will everything within hundreds of miles be incinerated, a cloud of ash so large will engulf the Earth and block out sunlight and leave a layer of ash several feet deep around the planet.
If this is not enough, Cape Verde, yet another volcano, not very large, still active, and yet one of the deadliest volcanoes on the planet, for the Cape Verde Volcano is located on an island, off the coast of West Africa, there is a split half way down the center of the island 10-15 ft wide, due to past eruptions. If this volcano erupts again, it will cause one half of the island to collapse into the ocean, this will in turn cause a Mega Tsunami, when the Mega Tsunami hits the East coast of North America, it would be over 300 FT tall, taller than the Empire State Building.
Volcanoes are the primary source of threat on the planet, the Ring of Fire, Pompeii is a major threat right now, threatening to erupt again.
On the outside, as you've probably heard about, an asteroid, about 390 meters wide, known as, Apophis99942. Apophis is an asteroid that will come dangerously close to the Earth in the year 2029, it will come closer to the surface than the satellites which power your cellphone, if it passes through a certain point in space when it passes, Earth's gravity will sling it back around and set it up for an Impact on the Earth in the year 2036. A land impact would cause damage to an area the size of Connecticut. The resulting impact would launch tons of molten rock into the air, although it wouldn't be as devastating as Yellow Stone, it would cause serious Block out of sunlight. But most likely a ¾ chance of it hitting the ocean, since 75% of the Earth's surface is cover by water. An ocean impact would result in a large Tsunami, Dozens of Stories Tall, causing millions of deaths, and Trillions of Dollars in Damage. Over 38% of the Worlds population lives withing 100km of the Coast.
Not only are all of these extinction threatening, there is another variable, Armageddon, Armageddon is the end of an era, supposedly as predicted by Nostradamus, 2 of the 3 Anti-Christs have already happened, the 3rd is yet to be known but is to come from Asia, we know about 9-11, and the invasion of the south east. But since that is an Entirely whole other story i will not talk about it now.
